World Peace Partners Objectives

 

Objectives:

  1. Facilitate Winnipeg and other communities in Rotary District 5550 becoming communities committed to improving positive and negative peace measures in perpetuity;
  2. Achieve Rotary International Peace Centre recognition with a focus on Global Indigenous Studies in collaboration with four Winnipeg Universities led by the University of Manitoba and also involving the Canadian Museum for Human Rights;
  3. Advance UNESCO aspirational goals for the UNESCO Associated Schools Network Project locally, nationally and internationally by means of a cross-border grass roots strategy. Our vision is for Winnipeg, Rotary District 5550 and Canada becoming a World leader in this kind of education;
  4. HavWinnipeg and other Rotary District 5550 communities recognized as an example of best practices and continuous improvement towards advancing human rights, positive and negative peace measures, social justice and compassionate action. All involving the grass roots, institutions, governments and sacred and secular groups working together local to global.

I acknowledge I am on the traditional territory of First Nations, Treaty #1 and the homeland of the Metis. I also gratefully acknowledge that the water for Winnipeg comes from Shoal Lake #40 First Nation Territory.
